Whatever Happened to Penny Candy?

Are you Liberal, Conservative or Confused?

Class Description:

Teens learn best through interaction and activity and this is that kind of Government and Economics class!

The Uncle Eric series of books is written by Richard Maybury for young and old alike. Mr. Maybury plays the part of an economist writing a series of letters to his niece or nephew.

Using Whatever Happened to Penny Candy?

with stories and examples, Uncle Eric gives clear, simple explanations of economic topics that are generally thought to be too difficult for anyone but experts.

Whatever Happened to Justice?

Uncle Eric discusses elementary legal principles with his nephew and introduces the Two Laws: 1. Do all you have agreed to do, and 2. Do not encroach on other persons or their property.

Are you Liberal, Conservative or Confused?

Now you can apply the model to political philosophies. Learn what political labels mean and how each political group affects you.

We will learn about national, state and local government as well as how governments, history and society affect how we live.  This class will provide awareness and encourage active citizenship.
