 Cost:   $40 a month, $35 if taking multiple classes

            Supply fee: $55 includes textbook and CD, due at Registration, NONREFUNDABLE.

Materials:  Green folder, zipper pouch, pencil, glue, scissors, and crayons.  The supplies will be stored in your child’s zipper pouch, and will be available for use during other courses, if needed.

Children are naturally more "efficient" foreign language learners with great capacity to learn a second language. Risas y Sonrisas significantly enhances the learning process through use of:

• Music
• Creative Visual Aids
• Games
• Acting Practical Conversations
• Variety in Class Presentations
• A Relaxed and Fun-Filled Environment
• Pictures representing the sounds of vowels and consonants that are different in Spanish are used to teach pronunciation.
• Pronunciation differences are emphasized by using cognate words – words that are similar in English and Spanish but pronounced differently.
• Posters, cards, songs, games, Q&A and skits are used for continuous reinforcement.

Homework:
Homework time is at least 15 minutes or more a day. For homework your student will be asked to practice what they have learned for the week.  Ex. spellings, practice speaking orally, worksheets, and review class work.  It is very important for your child to do their part in memorizing and practice speaking in Spanish at home every day.  This will ensure a fluency and learning of Spanish.

Bio: 
I've resided in the Pearland area for over 30 years, where I've met my husband and have had two beautiful children, Mia and Micah.  In 2002, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Houston majoring in Communications/Broadcast Journalism.  Shortly after graduation, I found that I had a love for teaching children.  So I returned to college and received my Teaching Certificate.  I taught in the public school system for six years and have enjoyed every moment of my tenure.  Now the Lord has blessed me with a wonderful opportunity to teach Home school children.  Teaching home schoolers has been such a blessing and a rewarding experience for me.  I'm extremely excited to meet all the new faces in the upcoming school year and look forward to making special memories for both myself and your children.
