In class we will do approximately half lecture/discussion and half experiments, investigations, and hands-on activities.

Weekly Homework:

Out of class will be mostly reading the chapters and assigned exercises in the workbook, plus a small project each quarter. I will assign about 2-3 hours of outside work per week.

Course Evaluation:

Grades are given weekly.  Grades are made up of class participation, daily work, homework, extra credit activities, and chapter quizzes. I use an online grade book so that you can view your child’s grades anytime or assignments on the Internet.  This is a great communication tool to view your child’s progress.  A "Progress Report" will also be sent home each six weeks as well as an end of the year cumulative grade. An e-mail reminder will be sent to parents.

Biography:

I've resided in the Pearland area for over 30 years, where I've met my husband and have had two beautiful children, Mia and Micah.  In 2002, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Houston majoring in Communications/Broadcast Journalism.  Shortly after graduation, I found that I had a love for teaching children.  So I returned to college and received my Teaching Certificate.  I taught in the public school system for six years and have enjoyed every moment of my tenure.  Now the Lord has blessed me with a wonderful opportunity to teach Home school children.  Teaching home schoolers has been such a blessing and a rewarding experience for me.  I'm extremely excited to meet all the new faces in the upcoming school year and look forward to making special memories for both myself and your children.
