PHSA Resource Classes 2011-12, Classes begin August 23/24

NEW  - CLASS SCHEDULE 2011-2012

CLASS INFORMATION:

WHAT:  PHSA sponsors a group of teachers who offer special classes to supplement your home-schooling needs.
Teachers are screened by the support group, but are independent contractors with the families they teach.  A
family must sign waivers of liability for Shadycrest Baptist Church and follow behavior guidelines in order to
participate.  Please consider when you sign up for a class that you are making a year-long commitment to the teacher.

WHEN:  All classes will meet on  Tuesdays or Wednesdays.  CLASSES WILL BEGIN AUGUST 24

WHERE: All classes will be offered at  Shadycrest Baptist Church, White Annex 3007 Yost Road, and Main Campus 3214 Hamm Rd., Pearland.

HOW: To register for a class Registration Form in PDF format

1. Download the PHSA Registration Form

2. Pay $25.00 PHSA Registration Fee (make checks out to: "Shadycrest Baptist Church."  Please DO NOT make checks to PHSA - we do not have a bank account!)  Only one fee per family is required.  Multiple students may be put on one form or you may submit a form for each student.  Registration form for Classes can be downloaded by clicking here,

3. Pay Supply/Lab Fees and last month's tuition (May) for each class. Please include this with your Registration Form (not to the teacher).  Checks may be made out to "Shadycrest Baptist Church".  Note, if a Student is taking more than one class, the student can take a $5.00 tuition discount for each class that he/she is taking.  This does not apply to a family taking more than one class - it is done per student.

4.  Mail or deliver Form and Fees to:  PHSA c/o Shadycrest Baptist Church, 3214 Hamm Rd.,  Pearland, TX  77581.   Forms and fees may be mailed, given to the teacher to deliver, or dropped off at the church office.

*Students will not be registered until all parts of the form are completed and Registration Fee and all Supply/Lab fees are paid.  Students who are in arrears for the 2010-11 classes will not be allowed to register until all tuition payments are up to date.

*September 7 - the September tuition is due.

TUITION:

*Tuition is due to the teacher the first Class Day of each month, September through April.

*Tuition is the same each month regardless of how many days the class meets.  We guarantee that 31 out of 32 classes will meet or the teacher will schedule a make-up class or a tuition refund.

*A $10 late fee is charged when tuition is late.

* if a Student is taking more than one class, the student can take a $5.00 tuition discount for each class that he/she is taking.  This does not apply to a family taking more than one class - it is done per student.

*A one-month's drop fee will be assessed if a student drops a class after October 1. (This fee will have already been paid as your May payment).  If the class does not seem a good fit to either the teacher or the student, the student may drop the class during September with no penalty and the May tuition will be refunded.  Supply/Lab fees will not be refunded as the teacher may have already spent the funds on supplies.

STUDY HALL: Students who have back-to-back classes or who need to wait for a sibling to finish class are welcome to wait in our designated area/study hall as long as they have something to work on and the teaching staff knows that they are going to be waiting.  If students are disruptive they will lose this privilege.

LUNCH, FOOD & SNACKS: Students are welcome to bring a snack or lunch if their classes run through the lunch hour. Teachers will allow them to have a break to eat their lunch. Please remind your students to clean up after themselves and put trash in the proper place. If students leave messes they will lose this privilege.
